Miller Harris Scherzo Eau de Parfum is inspired by a passage of text in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 'Tender is the Night' recreating the heady glamour of 1930s French riviera with a fragrance bursting with fruits, flowers, shimmering sunshine and sensual woods.
The Miller Harris Scherzo fragrance takes in cue from Fitzgerald's description of the heroine, young actress Rosemary Hoyt, strolling against a symphony of bright flowers in glorious summer sunshine. Miller Harris have tried to recreate in this sophisticated perfume the essence of the French Riviera and Hoyt with a fragrant description of the sun, sea and heat and the mystery of the character.
Miller Harris Scherzo perfume begins with a fresh and youthful Tangerine met with a exotic, fruity and Oriental note of Davana. The heart is a rich floral display of rich aromatic and sensual Dark Red Rose, combined with fresh Peony, bright and sunny Narcissus and a heady white floral of Pittosporum and Olibanum. This is finely layered over a luxurious and long lasting base of desirable Oudh, woody and earthy Patchouli, matched by a slightly sweet Vanilla and a glistening sprinkling of Sugar.
Miller Harris Scherzo uses a velvety Peony that is voluptuous, sensual yet fragile and fresh, peony that is a homage to this national emblem of Japan that symbolises beauty and abundance. This is beautifully paired with a velvety Dark Rose and a sophisticated partner in Oudh. This Oudh note is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery and in the Middle East it is known as 'black gold'; a dark resinous oil derived from agarwood that gives a long lasting and intoxicating depth to this bewitching and undulating fragrance for men and women.
Miller Harris decided to call this masterful creation Scherzo after a musical term meaning a small extract taken from a larger work.
